In 2020 the CLIMTAG™ Africa prototype was developed, funded by Copernicus and empowered by ECMWF. The funding enabled the realization of the CLIMTAG™ platform for three pilot countries, i.e. Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia.
The prototype demonstrated the value and wealth of climate data available in the Copernicus Climate Data Store, embedded within the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S). In CLIMTAG™ the raw C3S climate data were translated into operational agri-climate indicators. These indicators, developed and generated by VITO’s Climate Modelling team, are also available in the Data Store.
